KIDDIE BOOST helps parents guide their children as they learn to ride. The lightweight, extendable stick provides balance and support, making cycling fun and stress-free.
Designed from a family bike ride, changing tears to joy for our youngest. When my daughter was just four years old cycling her heart out, she was struggling to keep up with her two big brothers, as she often did.
On that day, I found a long tree branch with a forked section at one end. I trimmed off the leaves and held it in one hand. As I rode along behind I wedged the forked section to her bikes seat post. Suddenly she was being boosted along. Her bike became effortless and she would beam, happily shouting out, “more boost daddy!”
Instead of struggling, feeling frustrated and ultimately the family bike ride being cut short, she completed the full 9 miles (on the family bike trail) happy and with a real sense of achievement. The whole family was exercised and spent the day together.
That little moment sparked the idea, as an engineer by trade, I realised this concept could help families everywhere (and I also did not want to keep hunting for long sticks before a bike ride!) What began as a lucky accident, turned into months of testing, refining and reimaging. The tree branch transformed into a durable extendable aluminium pole designed to give children the BOOST they need on any bike ride. It wasn't just about teaching kids to ride, it was about creating a better experience for families, free from tears, frustration, stress and sore backs!
